Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy is a beautiful and exciting time, but it can also bring its own set of challenges. Pregnancy massage can be a reliable tool to help you feel more relaxed and comfortable throughout this important journey.

Massage before, during, and after pregnancy can help relax tight muscles, improve circulation, reduce swelling, relieve general fatigue, and calm the nervous system. At TMM Dunedin, Hanna is fantastic at working safely and effectively through pregnancy.

As with our other treatments, Hanna will begin by assessing your symptoms and condition, then tailor the treatment to meet your specific needs. Allow us to support you on this journey by booking an appointment for pregnancy massage today.

Dry- needling

Available as an add-on, to enhance the effectiveness of sports or therapeutic massage appointments.

Dry-needling is a highly effective technique used to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and promote healing. Our skilled therapists use fine, single-use, sterile needles to target hypertonic points in muscles, releasing tension in the muscle and positively affecting the nervous system.

This technique is particularly effective for those experiencing chronic pain, muscle stiffness, and postural imbalances.

Our therapists will work closely with you to identify areas of tension and discomfort and tailor the dry needling accordingly. We use only the highest quality needles and adhere to strict sterilization protocols to ensure your safety and comfort.

During your dry needling session, you may experience a mild sensation of discomfort, but this is short lived, discomfort can be further minimised by using more gentle needling techniques.

Whether you're seeking relief from chronic pain or looking to enhance your overall physical wellbeing, our dry needling add on is an excellent choice

Red-light Cupping

Our electric red light cupping therapy is a cutting-edge treatment available as an add-on to Sports Massage or Therapeutic Massage treatments.

Our red-light cupping therapy involves the use of battery powered cups that create a strong vacuum seal on the skin, stretching superficial fascia, relaxing muscles, and drawing blood through layers of tissue to enhance fluid flow in the area.

By including red light therapy, our cups can also promote cellular health (by improving mitochondrial function), and reduce inflammation (surprisingly to many, there’s an abundance of of research papers supporting this).

Cupping can be selected when you book online, or by requesting at the time of your treatment. Book your appointment today and experience the benefits for yourself.

Sports Massage | Deep Tissue | Remedial Massage

TMM’s Sports Massage/ Deep Tissue/ Remedial Massage treatments are suitable for people of all ages and lifestyles wanting to take the best care of their body (athletes, non-athletes, injury recovery, training recovery, aches, pains, tension, postural rehab, maintenance, sporting event prep etc).

Your expert therapist will assess your symptoms and condition, then tailor the treatment to meet your specific needs and preferences (you can choose a more gentle, or a stronger treatment).

We will utilise the Manual Therapy methods that suit your body best (sports massage, deep tissue massage, remedial massage, dry-needling, k-taping, cupping, IASTM). We may also incorporate some stretch and exercise coaching, if that will provide the best outcome for you.

Musculoskeletal Therapy

This treatment type is great for improving all the same types of issues, pain, and injuries that we help with sports massage therapy; but with a different method.

Musculoskeletal Therapy primarily focuses on joints, fascia and nervous system (rather than deep work into muscles). When applied masterfully, it is an incredibly effective form of therapy on its own, as well as being very complimentary to deep tissue/ sports massage therapy.

Our Musculoskeletal therapy consists of three primary skill sets; "mobilisation" to test and improve joint articulation, "myofascial release" to improve fascial function, and "neuromuscular facilitation" to ease muscle tension.

Suitable for people of all ages and lifestyles wanting to take the best care of their body (athletes, non-athletes, chronic pain, chronic injury, training recovery, aches, pains, tension, postural rehab, sporting event prep, recent injury recovery, surgery, stroke, scoliosis).
